The Hong Kong Tourism Board has launched a month-long Gourmet Month campaign, bringing together more than 400 restaurants and bars with Michelin menus, late-night dining guides and cocktail trails across the city.

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) has launched "Hong Kong Gourmet Month", a citywide food campaign running throughout November in which more than 400 restaurants, bars and food and beverage outlets are offering limited-time menus, dining offers and special experiences for residents and visitors.

The campaign comes hot on the heels of the board's annual Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival, which drew visitors from around the world. Rather than letting the momentum fade when the festival closed, the tourism board has spread the celebration across the whole city for an entire month, inviting people to explore different districts in search of what it calls a chance to "Taste the World's Best".

HKTB chairman Dr Peter Lam said the Wine & Dine Festival had fully showcased Hong Kong's appeal as an international culinary capital, and that Gourmet Month now takes those benefits further. Its five themes, he said, bring together star-rated restaurants, renowned neighbourhood eateries, distinctive bars and late-night hotspots, so that locals and visitors can enjoy the city's dining scene from day to night, every day in November.

The first theme is a wine-pairing gala in which top chefs and sommeliers have joined forces to create 15 pairing menus available only during Gourmet Month. Around 15 of the city's leading restaurants are taking part, including Michelin three-star Tang Court, two-star Arbor, and one-starred Tosca di Angelo and Andō.

The second theme, "Taste More Hong Kong", is aimed at diners looking for value at the top end: more than 200 restaurants are offering limited-time lunch and dinner menus with discounts of up to 30 per cent on selected menus. The line-up ranges from three-star Forum Restaurant and two-starred Ying Jee Club and Bo Innovation to one-starred names such as Hansik Goo, Man Wah, Shang Palace, Épure and Racines.

Night owls are covered by the third theme, the Hong Kong Late-Night Dining Guide, which brings together nearly 80 food and beverage brands and more than 100 outlets offering exclusive deals after 9pm. The guide spans districts including Central and Sheung Wan, Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, Tsim Sha Tsui, Mong Kok, Sham Shui Po and Kowloon City, reflecting the city's famous late-night eating culture.

The fourth theme, Cocktail Fest Month, showcases 30 bars arranged along six curated routes, covering speakeasies, bars with local flavours, classic Central venues, emerging mixologists and luxury hotel bars. For HK$399, drinkers can buy a pass, choose a route and redeem signature drinks at three venues along it.

The final theme, "Sip and Savour in LKF", turns the spotlight on Lan Kwai Fong, the city's best-known nightlife district, where more than 20 bars and restaurants are running evening promotions, cocktail workshops, retro-themed nights and live DJ performances through the month.

There are extra rewards for festival-goers: holders of the Gourmet Month Privilege Card distributed during the Wine & Dine Festival can unlock more than 250 privileges at participating restaurants, bars and merchants across the territory, including exclusive menus, dining discounts, complimentary welcome drinks and two-for-one offers.

The campaign runs for the whole of November, and the tourism board will be watching whether a month-long, district-by-district format draws spending beyond the usual tourist hubs and into neighbourhood eateries. Full details of participating venues and offers are published on the Discover Hong Kong website, and restaurants may add further menus and deals as the month goes on.
