Capcom has launched a free Delicious in Dungeon collaboration for Dragon’s Dogma 2, letting players recruit Laios and Marcille as official pawns and claim outfits based on the pair until late January 2027.

Capcom has launched a free crossover between Dragon’s Dogma 2 and the hit manga and anime series Delicious in Dungeon, giving players the chance to adventure alongside two of the show’s best-loved characters.

From today, players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and PC can recruit official pawns modelled on Laios, the series’ dungeon-obsessed leader, and Marcille, its elven mage, by visiting Riftstones in towns and other locations across the game world. Nintendo Switch 2 players will be able to claim them a week later, on 12 November, when the game’s Switch 2 update arrives.

Players can also claim free outfits based on both characters by loading their save data in either Dragon’s Dogma 2 or Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen during the collaboration period, which runs until late January 2027. The crossover was announced by Capcom on Wednesday and confirmed on the game’s official social media accounts.

Delicious in Dungeon, known in Japan as Dungeon Meshi, follows a party of adventurers who cook and eat the monsters they defeat in order to survive — and fund — their dungeon expeditions. The series became one of the standout anime of 2024, praised for a take on dungeon crawling that is at once comedic, practical and surprisingly dark, as its heroes weigh hunger, morale and monstrous cuisine against the dangers around them.

That tone makes the pairing a natural one for Dragon’s Dogma 2, Capcom’s open-world action role-playing game, in which players lead a customisable party — the Arisen and their AI-controlled pawns — through the fantasy kingdom of Gransys. Pawns are the game’s signature system: companions who can be borrowed from other players’ worlds, learn from their travels and bring that knowledge back with them.

The crossover arrives as Capcom continues to support the game months after the release of its Dark Arisen expansion in October, which revived interest in the title. The latest update, weighing in at 7.8GB, also brings a range of smaller fixes, with full patch notes published on Capcom’s official Dragon’s Dogma website.

Reaction from fans has been warm, with many in the Delicious in Dungeon community praising Capcom for a collaboration that leans into the series’ appetite for adventure — literally. The announcement also revived a long-running fan hope: that a Berserk collaboration, teased in the original game’s history, might one day follow.

For players, the practical details matter most. The Laios and Marcille pawns are free to recruit, the outfits are free to claim, and the window is generous — but not open-ended. Anyone who wants the pair in their party will need to visit a Riftstone before the collaboration ends in late January 2027.

The crossover is the latest sign of how live-service support for single-player role-playing games has changed: rather than selling new story expansions alone, publishers now keep their worlds alive with timed collaborations, cosmetic rewards and returning characters from other franchises, betting that a familiar face is enough to bring lapsed players back for one more journey.

Whether Laios and Marcille prove to be capable companions in Gransys — or simply spend the adventure thinking about what the local monsters might taste like — is something players will discover for themselves, starting today.
